The Diet Drama Chronicles. AKA The Descent into Madness
Ok, I’ve started this diet thing…or as they say in the industry, “A LIFESTYLE CHANGE” (I think I’ve found buzzwords that I hate more than ad agency buzzwords, and it’s health industry buzzwords)
Apparently, by innocently accepting a cupcake that was offered to me, it was, in reality, a binding agreement to go on this super high protein, None sugar diet regimen for about 30 days. So here’s the deal, I’m banned from eating all things that have sugar in it, because the theory is that the human body is addicted to sugar. I can’t even have fruits or whole wheat pita rolly things. NONE.
I’ve been on it for about a week now, and the things that are happening to me are pretty frightening. I am now seriously cranky all the time, I’m super fatigued, and my stomach cramps and hurts, and I started to feel nauseated after eating. I figured the tiredness and the bitchyness and the not being able to think was going to be part of the deal, everyone said to give it a few weeks, and things will get better, and I’ll feel GREAT.
But the stomach and nausea thing was concerning. I told my diet administrator that was happening, and apparently, I’ve had a very severe reaction to this and have been allowed to have some fruit sugars until my stomach stops cramping up.
So that’s me at the end of my first week of THE LIFESTYLE CHANGE. I pretty much hate it, I am dying for some ethnic food, and my stomach is at a low grade hurt all the time, but soon, SOON, I am supposed to feel GREAT and drop a bunch of weight while my body is feasting on my fat instead of the sugars that were running rampant in my body. So I’m gonna stick it out, and see what happens. If I get back into my favorite jeans, or how I looked before you all met me (my hermit years) it will be all worth it.
If I can, I shall vlog about it, since I’ve been requested to document this “descent into madness” - as someone else called it. Till then, you can follow my Twitter stream: @Liz_Money and all my diet rantings are hashtagged #dietdrama
